Bexley Council !

I'll cut to the chase.

As some of may know I ahve been offered a second plot on my allotment

Said yes and sent off the tenancy forms.

yesterday on further inspection I found a number of items from a car batteries (very old and corroded)  to an old bike, pots of paint etc.....

Rung up Bexley and asked them to remove said items before I take over and was asked if I could remove the items myself !

I said no as I think some of the items may be "toxic" !

Now I don't mind the odd item to help out but leaking car batteries and paint are the councils duty !

Rant over

If you think that the items may be toxic and leaking then I wouldn't take the allotment on as it might be contaminated. Leave it to someone else on the waiting list who may assess the risk differently and would be happy to take it on and remove the rubbish to a council tip.

Not 100% sure that they're leaking to be honest.
I'm thinking of just that area for a shed or using with a plastic sheet and grow bags on top.
It's only a small area so even if I have dig it out and refill....
