Had a good weekend in the garden myself, finished the raised beds and finally secured the placcy greenhouse with masonry bolts so he aint going nowhere!

I popped my chilli seedlings (about 30 and 6 diff varieties) in new pots and they are now in the greenhouse, planted some lettuce, basil and parsley in trays. Sowed some peas and carrots in the beds.

Really pleased the tommy seeds I sowed last week are popping through - I love it when seeds germinate I keep having to take a peek  :)

Garlic is going great guns and about 4" high, white and red onions are starting to do the biz too so all in all rather pleased with myself 8)

I've been advised to get some fleece for the chillies in the greenhouse, never having used it before do you just drape it over the pots at night?

Cheers

My shallots went in yesterday, onions will be going in next weekend then spuds the week after.

Got a fair bit of sowing to do in modules at home at some point this week.

Took a gamble - put the lettuce into the ground - already established about 5" high in root trainers. Put them under fleece. Bit of a gamble but you know what they siad about a faint heart ;)
Like many it seems, I'm still holding off on the spuds

Ive been naughty and despite my advice Ive bunged in about 100 pea seeds (left over from last year so if they fail Ive plenty more new ones) simply because I WANT FRESH PEAS ASAP!!! Fleece at the ready....

Cabbages and caulies have gone in as they were getting slightly leggy and I can cloche them...

Bet I regret it  :(

Loads of stuff coming on in the GH, my sprouts are looking GREAT! (they are my 'please dont fail' crop this year)

I've started the tender stuff.  Ulp.  40 modules of peppers (sweet and chilli), aubergines, and some ornamental coleus to fill up the tray.  Here's to not having frosts in May this year.

Garlic

Yip thats it

Toms, chilis, cukes, sweetpeppers, aubs and cabbage on the windowledges.

I had to abandon my peas that I started way too early, had nowhere ready to plant them out and no fleese to cover them when the frost came. Plenty more I can sow though.  Another entry in my big book of Lottie Lessons Learned.

I'm probably not going to do tatties or onions this year but is there anything else that can go out without protection that wouldn't be affected by frost?

Jamesbrownontheroad - nice to see you again, your plot is looking good.  Well done on finishing your greenshed  :tongue2:
