Busy Lizzie Seeds

Help!

As of last night, there is still no signs of life.

Planted in 24 pod seed tray 10 days ago and nothing so far. They were initially by a radiator under the window. Tueday I moved them so they are infront of the french doors, more light and south facing. Now this seems to have worked for some of the tomato's. Am I worrying to soon? Or should I admit defeat and start again!
Now your grips too strong

Gotta keep faith that your path will change
Gotta keep faith that your luck will change tomorrow

My busy lizzies aren't up either after 9 days in the propagator; my packet says to allow 14 days + for germination. If I don't see anything 2 weeks from now, I'll sow again.

They do like it really warm before they germinate.........self seeded outside in greece tho'
Maybe wait a bit longer till you have more chance of keeping them warm enough, cos even near a radiator they're not usually warm 24/7 , after all you won't be planting them outside till beginning of may at earliest?

Not easy to germinate. I'd try getting some miniplants and growing them on more likely to work

I do mine in an electric propogator and for the second year running have good results. Must be the  continual heat regulation thingy. I have now turned the heat off but left the lid on and all seems to be fine. Until I did this never got a doo daa whatsit.

I've got mine in an electric propagator - nothing so far. Hopefully something will come up over the next few days.

Not going very well with these, now I've had some come through.

Only have about 10 from a tray of 24.

Look at it this way though at least it was cheaper than buying a tray of garden ready.

When my daughter was born in August many, many years ago, the visiting nurse - after admiring our hanging baskets, window boxes and tubs of busy lizzies - told us how to save the seeds - simply burst ripe pods onto some kitchen roll to dry.

One year we grew over 1000 plants from these saved seeds, and the germination rate was far better than any expensive shop bought seeds.

Still no busy lizzies after 3.5 weeks; I've given up. I don't do too well with the tiny half-hardy flowers apart from pansies; had another disaster with Livingstone daisies. I'll remember that in future.
