Well it's not a diagram, just arty farty stuff :)

Must be,the blackeberries look far too well behaved and under control on  page 205. I think I will show the book to them on my site  :nowink:
"I think the carrot infinitely more fascinating than the geranium. The carrot has mystery. Flowers are essentially tarts. Prostitutes for the bees. There is, you'll agree, a certain je ne sais quoi oh so very special about a firm young carrot" Withnail and I

Thank you John!
Mine arrived this morning - I've had a quick flick through already and it looks ace.

I'm very excited abotu the seeds, but also a little bit scared because there's some stuff I've not tried before:
I got sweet spanish yellow onion
f1 carlton leek (good, cos I wanted to try leek this year!)
f1 eskimo carrot (overwintering, which I like the sound of - I normally grow earlies)
and f1 candid charm cauliflower - that's the one that's scary, but I'm looking forward to a fine harvest.....

Glad they're all arriving fine and nobody's said they don't like it (phew!)

We've had to change the offer as the second box of mixed seeds adds up to less than £10 - so we're promising £9.50 worth now.

Nothing simple in life!
Check out our books - ideal presents

I'm sorry John, I found an omission....

Alan Titchmarsh said that as an apprentice gardener he was told always to carry 3 things - a piece of string, a sixpence and a knife. (the aixpence was for the head gardener).
I've always followed 2 of the 3 - a aknife and a piece of string (well, wool in my case), : you've got the piece of string in your "important tools" but not the knife!
I couldn't cope without my knife (when I find it again.....)

I'm thoroughly enjoying the book- has certainly helped the day at work go quicker!!

I reckon it's because the overpaid top management are messing up something which a lot of hard working people make function.

We found the keys left in the postbox the other day - OK, a mistake. Could we find a phone number of the local sorting office? It's a state secret! Then they put the price up last year from 70p to 78p (the cost of posting the book) and discontinued the 78p stamp. It goes up to 90p next. Deflation? They're doing their bit to prevent it :)

Greatest of respect for the posties but the bosses.. couldn't set up a party in a brewery!

 :)Thank you John.
Matilda Duck brought me a copy in the week and I havn't put it down yet.
Its wrote in plain English which is refreshing to see and I now have a waiting list of people who want to read it next.
Thank you for the the seeds. I had onion, collie, and carrot. Ive always brought onion sets so it will be interesting the see how I get on with the seeds. The only problem now is I want to try more things, so I can see some more of the lawn having to give way to a much greater cause.

Once again thank you.   Steve.
I may take my time.....but i'll get there in the end.

STEVE
