help with dates please
« on: March 04, 2009, 17:49 »
Hi everyone,

I am setting some eggs off at school, but i have a fine margin on hatching dates as they need to hatch the last week of term.

they need to hatch either the earliest the 30th best choice the 31st of this month, and at the latest the 1st of April.

When do i set the eggs!? I was going to put them in on the 10th, but just checked my count and if they are early they could come over the weekend which is really less than ideal as they will be alone. I know they can do 24hrs in the incy and be fine, but really didnt want to risk them hatching with no-one around until the following day.

I am thinking the 11th, but want to check my maths, as I am on holiday whilst they are "cooking" and cannot afford to foul (ahem) this up....(am leaving detailed instructions for teacher and class lol)...

Plus I want to be back in the country when they hatch...lol.. i land back on the 28th, but cant get into school until the monday afternoon at the earliest.

Help...my maths is shocking....and mine always seem to hatch early!

cheers sarah, knew you would help me out!  :D

i am hoping for a good hatch for the kids to see.. everything will be cross...nothing to do with me as i will be away, so got to leave it all to the incy this time, and trust the teacher to keep a close eye on things.

Will let you know how it goes and send pics if and when...

just in time for easter eh RH...*L*...cant wait...

me again... just been doing a timetable for the teacher to follow with the kids, and if i put them in on the 11th, it will mean that day 18 lands on a saturday, which means that no-ones in school to remove dividers etc...so... does she take the incy home on the friday night, and remove them on the saturday..which of course then means them getting jiggled about on the monday to return them to school....or does she take the dividers out on the friday night, just before she leaves??? trust me to make this simple thing akward...lol...

Hi Chookie :D

Don't move the incy to another room or house, it'll send the humidity & temp plummeting :(

Best take dividers out last thing on Friday night, in my opinion :D
