Hi all, I have cleared a patch of ground of some very old brambles.
I have dug the roots out, some of which are the size of melons.
Then I dug the ground over with my trusty spade.
Now I have a patch of dug-over ground, big enough to plant my 'taters. But the ground is all now turned clumps of earth, some of which are quite big. I obviously cant just shove my taters into it like it is.
Whats the best way of breaking up these clumps so that I can plant? I'm working sans power tools on principle.
Thanks!
