·   Put dahlia tubers into deep box   MID MARCH

·   Re pot tomatoes

·   Plant chillis

·   Sow Parsnip/carrots/beets/chard/spring onion/Kale - NET

·   Transplant leeks & Peppers      END MARCH/EARLY APRIL

·   Sow marigolds & sunflowers/plant out sweet peas

·   Make bean supports

·   Plant maincrop & feed 1st & 2nd earlies

·   Sow sweetcorn/mangtoute/beans/courgette/squash/cucumber in toilet rolls

·   Net all soft fruit/Straw under strawbs    LATE APRIL

·   Move toms outside to harden off

·   Successional sowings – carrots/salads/spring onions/beets/herbs

·   Plant out dahlias/leeks/mangetoute/beans/courgette/squash

·   Harvest 2nd earlies & replant with Sweetcorn      LATE MAY

Well Janeymiddlewife, I also hail from sunny berkshire and am aiming to plant first earlies tomorrow or Monday, time permitting BUT am aiming to  keep the plastic sheeting to hand in case they pop up before the frosts are over (the weather gremlins don't kow we call it 'sunny'

I shall try for onion sets after that.

Go for it  8) 8) 8)

Every year without fail I plant my first early potatoes on 17th March (St patricks Day) A very good day to plant.

Nothing is going in mine for some time yet, even the onion sets which really should have gone in by now, certainly had this time last year!  But its still far too wet to do anything to, haven't even finished the winter digging.  but have started some leeks and broad beans off in the greenhouse in anticipation of some dry weather in the hopefully near future!

Blimey - what a plan.
I am hoping for a good week end this week end to make a start but not even thought about  putting in potatoes or onions yet. They didn't go in until very end of April last year because of the weather  >:(

Haven't got anywhere cleared and flat enough yet  :( Think it will have to be "Sit in the car with a glass of lemonade in hand")  - as I have to drive to the plot with me tools - too far to walk
