God Bless Good People!
« on: February 24, 2009, 15:17 »
I just got in touch with my local timber yard via their website about the possibility of saving there off-cuts from lanfill etc, not really expecting much in return other than a 'you're kidding, right?!'   ???

And I got an email back from the manager saying to "pop in, say hello, and come back every couple of days and take what you want out of the skip"  :D :D :D

FANTASTIC!!! Even if there's nothing 'decent' all is helpful!

Now I got to get building my little girls play house!

Isn't it amazing what a bit of politeness will accomplish? Good for you to hit such a nice jackpot.

I work for the local Travis perkins, they give off cuts away as it only goes in a skip and the refuse lorry will take it.

Our local TP often has broken slabs and stuff, and when i went to buy some wood once, they said that I could come and grab as much as i needed any time!

Well, After raiding the timber skip 3 or 4 times, and after having a total computer meltdown, and after having my 20mth old son INSIST on helping me.... I've finally (almost) finished!

I know it doesn't look the best but hey - it cost me about £5 for some nails!!!

Have to admit though, as I was building the thought of the amount of chickens I could keep in it crossed my mind a fair few times!

I can't upload any pics though :( all too big...
