My first ever sowing of veg seeds have shown their heads through my lovely John inniss compost, i must be doing something right, hope it continues, Hispi is the variety.

If only we could teach the Slugs to only eat the Weeds, and then the Pigeons to only eat the Slugs!

My lovely cabbages are also doing the same..and other stuff too caulies sprouts etc, the leeks are looking pathetic though

Hispis are my favourite too. I've got some in my cold frame just limbering up for the outside world.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.
