Planting Today?
« on: February 21, 2009, 08:41 »
Would love to go plant something today  Anything to go in today ? Onion sets??
Have i just got a case of itchy fingers???
I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.

We're on a gentle slope so the ground is just about workable 24 hours after a day without rain, and I've been clearing weeds and tidying up the beds for strawbs. the last couple of days. With a bit of luck I'll actually get them planted out today.  8)  ::)
Next thing to go out will be the garlic. Then I have to get the books out to decide what next.
I demand the right to buy seed of varieties that are not "distinct, uniform and stable".

You could put some broad beans in if you like them.

Yay I actually managed to get the strawberries planted, . . . and the rhubarb!
My feet are freezing though, so the garlic can wait til tomorrow.

My soil was fine and workable, and I have the bits I want to plant next under a black tarp to warm the soil, but I think I would be asking for trouble planting anything just yet, another 2 weeks I think. I spent the day outside though, cleaning out the rabbit hutches and sorting the spare for foster rabbits coming in next week.

Great weather here in Maidstone as well. No planting, just more couch grass root extraction  :tongue2:
