Hello good people and greetings from long-absent me :-)
Question about broccoli! After you pick a head of broccoli, is that the end of the broccoli plant? Will it grow more? Or should I pull it up and add it to my compost/mulch?
PS Midsummer in S. Africa, which is why I'm asking this question now...

If it's one of the types that make a head (rather than smaller florets) once they are cut they often reshoot with a small crop of florets. If you have space to leave them for a while you can see if the new shoots do start forming.

I agree, once you cut the main central head smaller shoots develop, however it would be more efficient use of the space to have a replacement plant waiting in the wings, pick the second crop and replace.
