Mushrooms in my compost!
« on: February 16, 2009, 17:11 »
For some reason this year I keep getting mushrooms in my seedlings. What should I do? I have included a pic. As you can see they are growing around the middle so I don't think the paper pots are to blame  ???

oo err :( don't like the look of that.
I've not seen that before but,
What kind of compost is it............peat, peat free, bark based or what......might give us a clue.

Errm I'd call them toadstools, they certainly aren't standard edible muchrooms!
I demand the right to buy seed of varieties that are not "distinct, uniform and stable".

Probably from spores in the compost, reduced peat formula ??

I agree with Nobby. Take one of your pots with fungus to the retailer and ask for a replacement or your money back.

Go first to your supplier, if you get no joy there deal direct with Bowyers. Tell them on which website they can view the 'mushrooms' and i guess you'll get excellent service :D
