You can grow as many or as few as you like!

How much space do you have?
Can you cover them?
Do you eat lots of them?

I grew nine plants last year (probably too close together) and had a couple of bowlfuls which was nice but I have a lottie now so in my next patch I’m planning to grow at least 20 plants hopefully of different types which mature at different times.

Check out the supplier’s website for yields and planting distances

thats a coincidence last year I had about 10 plants and also got about two bowlfuls, this year though, with the amount of runners I have planted I hope to get two bucketfuls.

Do you plan to make jam or wine, or have greedy people who'll eat a pound a day given the chance?  If so, the sky's the limit!  If you just want a few for puddings occasionally, then a dozen plants should be enough, although they may crop a bit light the first year.

I have about 100 plants and between what I eat and freeze, and what the robins and chipmunks steal, it's almost enough plants.

Hmm, one of the former type, three of the latter type, so how many does that make?   :tongue2:
I demand the right to buy seed of varieties that are not "distinct, uniform and stable".
