It's not too difficult if you approach it with a bit of chicken psychology.  Worzel says I'm chicken brained most of the time  :tongue2:

The breed and strain may have something to do with bullying and the pecking order. I have never had a problem with my faverolles intergating one -or two..I have separate when the bantam has a brood or move breeding hens around at bit - they just have a genteel peck then thats it..... :D

hi
ive had poppy and jenny for two years next month and theyre best friends.

jenny is definately the boss of the two as poppy wont go to bed untill jenny is indoors first  but poppy is the braver  more outgoing one when interacting with us.

have often thought what will i do when one of them dies, i would dearly love to re-home some ex batts next time but dont know if i should wait till both have gone in case they dont get on

- hopefully that wont be for some time yet  but if i was starting out again i would probably go for ex batts from the start as although i'm thrilled with my girls i cant help wondering how omlet only supply girls  do they cull any boy chicks?    :(
