Last year my rhubard looked weak and neglected so I poured half a box of pellets over it and it shot up. If this was the right thing to do may be debatable but it worked for me

Yep will be fine I'd mix with a bit of decent compost and some blood fish and bone  roughly half a bucket of compost 3 handfulls of pellets and a handfull of BFB stir together and one mix per crown.

That is the type of advice I like (buckets and handfulls), not 3 ounces of this and two of that - my wife won't let me take her scales down to the allotment.
