« on: February 06, 2009, 20:49 »
Poor lads have been under 6 inches of snow since monday?

Tough as old boots.

Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

If they're fully grown from last year, then they'll be fine. Leeks like the cold.

Well, they could be young ones recently planted out in the haste of the new garden season.  :tongue2:

Wouldn't be big enough to make lots of soup though!

I'm anxious to get the season started, but not that anxious!

No, they are not that young, although i was hoping for a bit of extra growth if the weather warms up soon. (Ha)

Old boot soup it is then! Mmmm

Please don't fight.

Don't be in a rush to get extra growth, because when they do they'll be running to seed and they'll get a tough central flower stalk running through them.

Peversley, they'll be better covered in snow than being exposed to -8c frost and wind.

The snow'll act as a bit of insulation against even clder temps as daft as it sounds. ???
