Do you remember eating that stuff?  It tasted like wallpaper paste.
Cheese makes everything better.

You've eaten wallpaper paste to know?
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Perhaps not when they are still new potatoes, but I bet the mature ones would be ok or good. :D Personally I prefer my tats boiled, baked or roasted, and only mash those that I've over cooked (boiled) so they've gone to mush already, but as they don't go to mush I haven't tried them as mash!
I demand the right to buy seed of varieties that are not "distinct, uniform and stable".

I mashed and froze some verrrrryyyyyyyy mature Charlottes and they were fine.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I did say they were very mature...  This was *ahem* March when I was digging them up - having planted them the previous spring ... they wouldn't have kept long if I hadn't taken such emergency measures.  I'm not very good at eating things quickly

I may try Desiree again thise year.  Haven't grown them for 3 years trying other things, but last year, I got blight really bad, so most of mine got chiucked.  the Pink Fir apple were fine, but Brian didn't like them, said they were too firm!!

When we first moved in here 6 years ago, the chap who was looking after the bungalow next door while the old lady was in hospital, he gave me a bucket of desiree once, and one of them weighed over 2lbs!  I said to Brian, how many lumps do you want?  not how many potatoes!!!!! lol

Might try Rocket and charlotte too
