whats the use of growning sunflowers
i mean do they bear any friuts or some thing ?
i've heard of sunflower oil  :D surely you dont grow them for that
or do people grow them for ordamental reasons i dont know i dont see the point in growing them.

but this challenge sounds about the only good reason for growning them.
am i too l8 to get some started now do you think.
i'll have a go just for the fun of it.

They look so majestic so high up (well mine do  :D :D) and it isn't too late to sow if you don it now.  Just invest in a neck brace for the crick you will get looking up at them  :tongue2:

You can always eat the seeds if the birdies don't get them or the tree rats  >:(

Hey my daughter and I have just planted our ten footers in the Peak District so we are in.  Lets hope we get a sunny summer. My chicken poo and manure should do the trick..

Worst thing you can put on it Mark. Can't tell you why. It's a secret but if you plant them in 3ft of water and cut the tops off, they really do well  ;) :D

Mine are 6' high now. Thickening up well and with a few sets of leaves.

We have a magic airing cupboard. 100% germination rate so far. I blame the high humidity in there.
