Our neighbour has 2 sows and 7 piglets (well he had 7 piglets, 4 have been sold)  I guess the rabies shots and pet passport etc for pigs would be expensive!
They are brilliant for turning over the soil, I thought he had bought a rotovator. :D

It's funny you should mention this, I was only thinking yesterday that I should get a goat or two on my plot to get rid of all the weed and bramble roots....

Can't help with a pig though sorry...

I was thinking of getting a couple of geese to help with clearing my lottie, and then they would be good for Christmas after that!

A religious community near me all tie up their young annual beef bull to a shady tree and let the animal 'mow' the grass for them. When an area is clear, they move it to another tree. Naturally, they bring the animal into the barn for the night. Don't want any midnight 'mooooowing'.

This is how we cleared our ground and they were brilliant  - brambles docks creeping thistle & buttercups the lot  cleared and manured in one go.

Felt a bit mean eating them after all their hard work

I don't like the way Mrs Digger's been eyeing me up!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

How about a chicken tractor?
Not joking, I've made my coop and run so it fits over my beds. :D
Not quite as portable as an ark but should do the job just the same. (I have to kill all the surplus cockerels first or they might start fighting in the (relatively) confined space. :( )

Edit: Sorry forgot you wanted rid of brambles; chooks are good for general weeding, but don't scratch that deep! :D
I demand the right to buy seed of varieties that are not "distinct, uniform and stable".
