It's killin' me that I can't have chickens yet, but at least this is giving me lots of time to plan and think.  I would like to go somewhere where I can look at different kinds of poultry houses so that I can look and compare the build, what they look like, and prices etc. I am in the South East.

Are there poultry houses at the Ideal (hen) Home Exhibition?

Try looking at local agricultural suppliers - mine has a reasonable selection of poultry houses which come in all different sizes as well as all other chicken sundries! I love going there even just for a mooch - usually come away with something - even if just another rat trap!    
I think I'm becoming obsessed with rats! Hubby installed another two rat traps today (downside to keeping chickens).

We looked in the local papers with chickens for sale adverts, and found that a few chicken suppliers also supplied chicken coupes and arcs. Looking at these,  gave us an idea as to what design would suit us best. The one thing we came to realise was that a coupe needs to have the accessability for easy cleaning, this is something that can make it easy or hard work depending on the access available.
