Kelvin Wonder Peas

Hi Everyone being new to all this last year i planted my peas (kelvin Wonder) most of them when picked contained maggots, i waa told this is from the Pea moth. Can i spray just soapy water over the flowers if so will this kill the maggots. Thanks Ger

I think (although I could very well be wrong) that you planted them to coincide with the pea moth season - if you sow a few weeks earlier or later, you can minimise the problem, or you could try growing under mesh.

pea moth is a small one so make te mesh small the tiny black stuff used for fly screens is great .lidl's sold fly screens for £3 last year with 4 pieces of plastic netting in them ,, watch for them this year and get some plaeets ripped down and make a mesh cloche from them
