nothing at all. Not been there for a good few weeks now and the soil is going to be too wet to start rotorvating it, so prob nothing for the next few weeks. Hmm might take all the bags of rubble, etc to the tip at half term.

Nothing much I can do either on the plot.  might just fix the dog kennel someone gave me and take that up when its done.  might put some horse poo down but can't mix it in, too wet underneath.  then again might just join a friend or two in the local coffee shop and just talk about what i need to do and moan about the rain and frost!

I'm conducted a site inspection in about 45 minutes' time (note to self, probably ought to get out of bed rather soon   ) then coffee with a friend, another friend coming round to help me pick curtains.

Far too wet to dig on the plot, went down last week and the mud was sticking to the boots

Tomorrow (after taking my eldest to football) I am digging out two old pigeon loft foundations (my plot having not long been cleared)... then I shall be fashioning a couple of compost bins from pallets; fitting a lock on the old shed; measuring said shed for a new roof; possibly taking off the old (asbestos) roof and fitting new one.

On Sunday, I was supposed to be ploughing and digging out roots, though looking at the forecast it looks unlikely...

I am disappointed to hear that u are removing the pigeon loft.

Soil's way too wet and claggy.  But I'm working shifts this weekend anyway.  Now I'm home, I'll just dream of springtime, sunshine and verdant growth!  :D

Just been out and dug the last bit of manure in the brasica beds. Tidied up the kale and raked in some chicken poop pellets around it.
Weeded a bit.

Was going to plant the 2 rhubarb crowns we got thismorning, has a small space i was going to use. Opened up the second packet to find it had 2 good sized crowns and 2 smaller ones, so 5 in total. They ended up in pots for now while i try to work out where i can fit them in.

How wet is 'too wet' to dig? I did some this morning and although the ground was a bit claggy I did manage to dig it over and remove some nasty big weeds. Or am I doing 'more harm than good'?

Ive been weeding and digging today. Was the only one down there.

If ive been a bit premature digging and weeding i dont care as just wanted to get down there and actually do something , couldn keep away any longer

O and i have had a great afternoon.
I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.

Just back from digging another bed on our new allotment.
It was basically a piece of meadowland when we took it on and it is slow going!

Trying to get beds dug in the order that we'll use them - one at a time seems far less daunting than trying to do the whole lot at once.

I was the only one up there and it was a beautiful afternoon.

Good beer, good BBQ and good friends.

If it sticks to your boots, keep off.

You will be compacting the soil structure which will permanently damage it and may impair the ability of plants to grow to their maximum.

Enthusiasm is not always a virtue
