As an aside, the prices of second-hand DMs is still mad on Ebay, with one lacking it's mudguard selling for over £100 the other day! There's a spare's or repair on there now but it's a bit too far away

Is it near me

Have a look mate, it's in Derbyhttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=220354677074.
Funny, I always thought Derby was in Derbyshire, not Leicestershire as stated by Ebay.
Blimey! You mean you can *grow* things in soil?

Strewth, whaddya want fer £10, blood?! ??? :D I was thinkin' more for the spares, and I wouldn't imagine a coil for a B&S would be too difficult to get. I keep looking at Merrytillers and the more modern/bigger Hondas on Ebay, but (a) can't justify the expenditure at the moment and (b) would get cheesed off having to use the car to get the 'vator to the allotment. With the DM I can bung it in my wheelbarrow and get it there 8)

I'll 'ave you know my pulleys are in tip-top shape, not a speck of rust in sight! I've never bin so insulted in me life, rusty pulleys indeed (wanders off, muttering about National Service, birching etc).

Ahem  Errm, anyone got any humble pie kickin' about? ::) I had a good, close look at the pulleys, tonight, and was rather embarrassed to discover that the driven pulley is indeed quite rusty  I'm going to try cleaning it by running the machine and holding a piece of emery paper glued to a stick against the side to remove the rust. That, hopefully, will let the belt slip as it should!
