What should I do?
« on: March 04, 2007, 14:41 »
When I was weeding and preparing the soil I found several "nests" or "pockets" of small white worms with black heads. A bit maggot like, about 3 mm long.

Does anyone kbnow what these are?

Should I get rid of them or leave them be?
Do not underestimate the therapeutic values of weeding!
1 dog, 2 children, 3 good reasons not to spread poison!

dont plant lettuce or brassicas in these spots, could be cabbage stem flea beatle or lettuce root maggot, maybe!hard to say without seeing the little beggards, get rid anyway, maggots or grubs are only after one thing,so i would get rid :)

No idea but several pests feed on the crops the drop into the soil  to pupate so I would get rid and not grow the same crop there as last year,if you know what  was there.

Thank you! Though I'm not sure I will squash them.
