Most people do, though some are more experienced than others when they join.  Ask as many questions as you like.  If you don't get an immediate answer don't worry, it really depends who is online at the time.

There are people on here in the same boat as you new guys.
The only thing I know about is potatoes and that is it.
The only way to learn is to ask the question and wait for the answer or check the threads and see if it has been asked before.
Visit my website and view my potato blog and videos.

Me too, today's special was peas, thanks DD ;)
I'm not new to gardening, so I know quite a bit about plants in general, and even a fair bit about veg growing from books, but there are some very large gaps, and I have almost zero practical experience of veg growing.
I demand the right to buy seed of varieties that are not "distinct, uniform and stable".

We've all learned gardening the same way -  by doing everything wrong first    Someone likened it to riding a bicycle; can't do it alone on the first try so you keep getting back on and pedaling and eventually you can do it.

Hi Rem

I was the same.  I got my  plot last Feb and don't know what I would have done without this site and its (very patient) members.

I even took my laptop with me one day hoping I could piggyback on some unsuspecting neighbours wireless if I ran into a problem and needed to ask a question    Shocking behaviour lol.

I'm not just as panicky these days and have gained an enormous amount of knowledge, a lot of it from the mistakes I made along the way.

I ended my first year having had more successes than failures and I owe that to the help I got here.   :D
What if the Hokey Cokey IS what its all about...

I've asked a good few hundered questions. You're not wrong.

This place is possibly the 2nd best place to win knowledge about growing plants. The best is like everyone says, making mistakes.
