Mrs B wants a new Pointsettia. "But what's  wrong with last years", was my reply....

So do you think I need to repot it because it's really outgrowing the pot?

If I do repot, will it stress the plant? Should I leave it alone until new year?

Life begins... On the kitchen windowsill.

I seem to recall after trying it many years ago, that in order to keep them for next year, they have to be cut down by half and then put outside to shoot.

They will develop green shoots and I seem to remember that in order to get the red bracts, you have to exclude light for x number of hours per day.

I'm a bit hazy on this, but I don't think it's just a simple matter of re-potting, feeding etc.

My mum kept the one I bought her last year going, but it doesn't have any red leaves... :?

Go to to store that cannot be named, I'm sure they are about £2 or £3 there

You're right on this Dave, but ours has survived, and produced Red bracts without all the fuss. But... with it being pot bound, its dropped  leaves, and I think it will go 'leggy' if I don't re pot it soon. The question is.... When?
If I do it now, will it suffer over Christmas, or should I leave it until the new year?

If you go to the store that Parsnip didn't mention, you can help yourself to 650g of Long Clawson Blue stilton for just over 2 quid at the same time!

So, I'm told, anyway.
