Is it to late to get some garlic planted?

No - traditionally it's planted on the shortest day and harvested on the longest day? I however planted mine in modules in the greenhouse over a month ago and will plant them out in the Spring (if it ever arrives!!). If you've got a mini-greenhouse, a well lit garage window sill or cold frame this would also do nicely, as would a cloche direct into the garden.
