I have managed to grow some decent sprouts this year which we want to keep for christnas dinner, can I use the sprout tops now or should I wait untill we have eaten the sprouts, - sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but dont want to cut the tops and the sprouts are no good.

We used to use up the sprouts (not me - hate the things) and then use the tops (like the tops, like cabbage) when I were a kid.

I use the tops while I can - before the flying rats get under the nets!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Hi thanks for your help thought I might have to use the sprouts first,

As for the flying rats they have had my cauliflowers  and purple sprouting already - my sprouts are like fort knox - orange site fencing, netting and dangly things on sticks

I dont think they are spring greens because my greengrocer is now selling spring greens and brussel tops. When you see them side by side you can see the difference.
