Available at all horsey stores.

It's the replacement for gentian violet.

Yep. I think ours has aloe vera in it. Wherever it lands, turns purple. It'd be very good for temporary tattooes.

Its the redness of any wounds that you need to get rid of. Some of the purple spray is antiseptic as well, so it kills two birds with one stone.

We tried the purple spray but it didn't stop the pecking.

My chickenspecks work for this kind of problem Rob. Let me know how many you need.

Hi Bodger.

We've sprayed a bit of tar on them to see what effect it has, if any.

Do the specs give them any problems ?  I wonder if I tried them on the top 2 or 3 just to even thing up or do you think the lower 3 would then turn on them ?

They are very competetive.

I've got my little helper to pin them down as I spray. Not foolproof but makes aiming a bit easier :D

The weekend is meant to be sunny so I can spend a bit of time with them assessing who's doing what to whom.

I'm very accurate when I spray

Had long rubber gloves on and I managed to keep it on the birds. Didn't put too much on though. Maybe with a goodly dollop it would get messy :?

Put the specks on the lot. It doesn't have to be forever, just until their feathers have regrown and they've forgotten what they've been doing.
