You could use them as martial arts training aids.  The Last Man Standing featured them being used as makeshift clubs in the stick-fighting programme.

I'm 65 and martial arts are not too old for me, and I am not the only one on here who is over 50 and could still put on a good show.  My mate Munty springs to mind.

Richy, who is well over 50,although he does not look it, is a black belt in Origami. (One fold and your dead.)
So bring on the plastic bottles, I'll just go and find my stick and my classes. 8)

Placed on canes stuck in the ground they can support netting over brassicas etc. Smaller bottles will work for that too.
I like the insualted solar pipe idea, maybe one day I will make a solar heated shower after all!
I demand the right to buy seed of varieties that are not "distinct, uniform and stable".

This is a link of how to make a greenhouse out of pop bottles

I don't think I could drink enough lemonade to make this:

Inspired by this, we have been busy on  Freecycle, and have Rainbows, Brownies and Guides collecting bottles for us.  I have also asked the local school (not much joy there, but the Head never liked us much..).  We are looking at the end of Feb to get everything together so I will post photos of our progress.  The Rainbows are going to help! :D

Has anyone suggested slug traps yet?  Also, stick them upside down on the top of short canes to stop them tearing holes in fleece or netting, or putting your eye out!

mmmmm .............. no time here to reminisce about my early nursing years  ...... but thanks for the memories!

Has anyone tried using an upturned bottle, filled with water, lid on loosely, to water thirsty plants while you're away say for a long weekend?
Still glowing, still growing, still going strong!
