Maybe im naughty (or lazy!) but I dont sterilize my pots..just dunk em in washing up liquid and warm water and then rinse them

Wash and dry them and then give them a short burst in a microwave.

A dunk of washing up liquid is probably good enough but if you want your shed to smell like a 1950s school lavatory, just after the cleaners have been, use Jeyes Fluid.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Soap and water if you are strict on organic - Jeyes Fluid if you are not and worried about beasties in your greenhouse and pots.

If you keep a clean allotment and haven't had any really nasty outbreaks of virus, blight or similar that you haven't acted upon then you're not going to be passing on disease from season to season and crop to crop are you?
