They have got the 3 litre one on special offer in T***o at present for £9.96 but that is only any good if you have a large family or you batch cook on a regular basis cos it's huge.

It's very good for steaming Christmas puds

At that price it's well worth getting one as you don't need to fill it.  Once you have cooked in one you will be hooked.

I am just about to have steak and ale stew with veg, pearl barley, herbs and dumplings with creamy mash and cabbage from mine. 8)
Cheese makes everything better.

Just freeze what you dont use Pooly...I got mine out of the garage the other day and I've cooked a huge beef stew and a beef curry, the left over's are in the freezer..

Mine is a Morphy Ricahrds and it's huge..but like Ice say's they are brilliant...and at less then a tenner I reckon you should go for it..

I bought mine from a local free ad paper last Easter and I must admit I don't know how I managed without it. On Saturday, it is going to be keeping soup warm to serve at a Christmas Fair at our church.

Wouldn't be without mine; I batch-cook and freeze portions. So lovely to bung all the ingredients in first thing on a bleary-eyed morning and come in from work to a gorgeous stew or curry. Great for mulled wine and mulled cider too.

What got me using mins again was how cheap they are to run.. The thing is I'm convinced food tastes better and I love the bung it all in the one pot method of cooking too.

Do you all bother browning the meat before it goes in?

The books advise you to, but I can't quite face doing that before breakfast and on my way out of the door ...
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I chuck my meat in frozen and cook it on Low all day - comes out fine, and I haven't poisoned us yet.

Yes we've done brisket before and it melts in your mouth, completely different from roast brisket  :)

Very tempted to buy this for my mother as a present (also bought a blender this year). Not as a Christmas present just something useful for her to cook with. Evil eh? :D
