Jar Query
« on: November 26, 2008, 12:07 »
Hi All

i made some green tom chutney a while back (my first chutney and i LOVE it!!) but i put it into big jars. I was wondering if i can now just split this over smaller jars provided they are sterilised?

Cheers

Not sure, I wouldnt but that is just personal to me

I use small jars so we can keep them once opened in the fridge and seen as i dont have an american style fridge they need to be small

You should be able to get away with it. Make certain that the new jars are sterilized and that they are covered and sealed correctly.

Agree with Val. It's not so much the jars that can spoil contents, it's the fact that they've been opened and must be properly resealed if you're dividing into smaller jars.
