Why is it that the people think the human mind is necessarily capable of comprehending all the wonders of nature and the universe? Patently, some things are simply beyond our understanding.
Nothing is beyond our comprehension, we just havn't figured it out yet, I hope. Einstein is just such a person.

I think what Kate means is, just beleiving somethign is true, doesn't advance knwoledge at all.
Think back to the belief in witches or a flat earth.

If, however, you can show results from a carefully constructed experiment that at least gives evidence to support it, then you can choose whether to describe how it works.

But until then it's just a belief. Nothing wrong with that.

One of these big research stations could do a controlled test. Same soil, same moisture, same climatic conditions.

One planted any old time.
One planted new moon.
One planted full moon.

Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

Yes, but you would have to factor in objective and subjective participants.  Some might be motivated by veg growing and some might be sweetieholics.

As I said earlier I am willing to take part.

What about us growing the specimen in a container, same sort of grow bag etc. same type of garlic or whatever we are growing. Hopefully that would stop the possible frost problem and make the test more fair.

I remember people laughing at Prince Charles because of him talking to plants (what was the outcome about that one  :? ??) Oops have I added fuel to the debate   .

"At the end of the day" you can only do a fair test if it's conducted under very controlled & supervised conditions, by a party that does not have pre-conceptions either way and has no "interest" in the outcome.

I don't think the members on this thread fulfill all those criteria!

I know it works for me. I live in a rural part of France, and its not a hippy thing  or anything. All the older farmers use it. Also for breeding horses ect. It makes sense, the gravity of the moon, pulls the water level up for plants to obtain water naturally.
Talking of the moon.

I think it will make much more sense that the moon can be used as a calaender, hence giving an approximate time for planting.
The rest is mumbo jumbo until proven.
