Do chicks play?

Just been watching 2 chicks and they appear to be play posturing at each other. Lots of head waggling and jumping around and chasing each other around the pen. Baby (bantam) wags it's tail at Buffy and they seem to be having fun. So, are chicks playing?

I think most (if not all) juveniles use play to learn and practice adult skills.

Most of it probably centres around sex and food....and ensuring a good place in the pecking order !

my chicks play all the time ,i have a hlaf cut barrel in the pen an they just fit under it now am sure they are playing hide an seek with each other and me to think of it

keep thinking i have lost one .

but also they dont halve like to peck me for some reason maybe i could use them as guard hens oneday

mine have a nintendo wii and are terribly good at all wii sports except golf for some reason.

i must do . whats the saying ' never bite the hand that feeds you ' or something well mine aint never heard of it . are marans that crazy mine seem to have lost thier marbles
