Too late to transplant leeks?
« on: November 16, 2008, 07:24 »
Is it too late to transplant leeks to their final growing position?

I have about 12 in a pot nicely spaced but only just getting big enough to transplant.

Am I better just waiting till spring to move them or will they not survive in the pot?

Cheers

It is rather late, but there again you have nothing to lose.

As it's still reasonably warn they may make a bit of growth given the room, rather than cramped in a pot.

If you wait until spring they will only run to seed despite their size, it's just the natural cycle.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
