All Chickens are friendly.  My black rock is the best so affectionate.  I'm with kate as well though DUCKS are great so friendly and funny.  Well in some cases stupid, but funny.  They love life as long as the fox stays away

What's the make  of the chap thats on the home page here? I love those little brown hens...  :D

That's a goldline or a warren or a calder rangr or an ISA or something!  All the brown hybrids look very simmilar, with their white tails.  The only one that's a bit different is the Babcock which has a black tail.  Babcocks are lovely.  Very friendly.  I wanted to keep some of mine when they reached point of lay, but silly people kept buying them!  However, I am determined to keep 24 of the Amberlinks.  Got 8 eggs off them today, but sold 2 to a nice young couple who have now had 6 of them from us!!!!!

Thanks Chicken lady and GrannieAnnie, Im rather keen on getting a few ducks, but OH says " no" to that bit.. Best not push it I suppose can always sneak one or two in later

i have 3 warrens extremely friendly and are still laying most days each have their own personality and brighten up the garden i used to let them roam free but they tore up the garden within a week and it's a small garden and i had the constant worry of the urban fox so now they are in an enclosed run with shelter and are very happy. have fun whatever you decide.

Thanks all, I have decided to plump for 2 goldlines/warrens and 2 Light Sussex. now all I have to do is fence off the veg plot.
