Now Confused!!!Re- poorly hens

If it is mycoplasm do the eyes stay bubbly?

My hen had bubbles for about 2 hours then they were gone and haven't come back???? She is sneezing a bit still, but not so much and is still interested in food. Haven't found any strange poops either.

i am getting antibiotics tomorrow...don't ask, we have had problems!!!
I will still give them to be on the safe side.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Not really sure ES :?
Could she have wiped it away with her foot :?
It might not be mycop :?

Do you give them Apple cider vinegar? that could help if they are snuffly :)

it is possible she just has a cold, or could something such as a dust be getting up her nose.

please dont always assume the worst, quite often its just us owners over reacting.

i hope she's better soon

Thank you,

I will try the apple cider vinegar as they do seem a bit snuffly. Is there a special chicken one or any one will do?

I made a "lovely" brew of mashed potatoes, fresh garlic, natural yoghurt, honey and marmite for them tonight....they wolfed it down.

I know it's a strange mix but I was trying to think of all the best natural vitamins and goodness.

Well I am sure you have all met Camilla before. I have had her for 3 years now. She is a Silver Laced Wyandotte banty. Just after I got her I noticed she had bubbly foamy eyes. Because Handsome got bit of a cold and so I learnt quite quickly that chooks could get colds and that sometimes the stress of a move could bring them on I assumed thats what she had. NOPE. She also has a bit of narcolepsy and can just fall asleep. She is like my little sweet down syndrome chooky  she is still the same and sometimes her eyes still get foamy but she eats and drinks normally. Im not sure that little Tallulah may have come from a Camilla eggie   :( She is one of my favourites tho
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most!!

The bubbly eyes can be a sign of many different resp. illnesses and really the only way to sort them out is to have a vet confirm the illness.

Our hen that had a bad eye and a cold got over the cold quickly the eye was a different matter, we had thought she was bliind, we could not see her eyeball at all, all we could see was a swollen mess.  In the end I used eye drops I had bought from the UK optician when I had a sore eye, I´d never used them.  This afternoon ( a good 3 weeks later) I put her back with the other hens, she is still half the size of the hens I bought at the same time, but full of life.
The other hens are doing the usual, pecking at her if she gets too close, but hopefully they will get over that.  It will be dark soon, so hopefully they will let her roost in peace.
