I have read hops is a relative of the cannabis plant. Are you going to use it for home brewing or something else? 8)

I'm sorry for opening a can of worms.

Go ahead and grow it you will be fine. Treat it like a softwood cutting.

Back to topic :
yes you can propagate, they a rhizomas plant so you just need to split the rhizomes which are big thick tuber like roots. If you want to produce hops for brewing I think you may need male and female plants .

it's a young plant, i only bought it and planted this year - will the rhizomes be large enough to propagate from?

can i try a softwood cutting if not?

it has the hop cones but i don't know if that means it's polinated. i only have the one plant and haven't seen ny others nearby.

probably it's not big enough for root cuttings then, try softwood cuttings next spring.  :)

It probably means it's not pollinated if no others nearby. I'm not 100% sure on the male female thing so best check it out

I've got a dwarf golden hops in a tub and it had its first flowers this year. Only got the one and it has taken it 3 years to flower.
