Can I compost sycamore leaves?
« on: November 03, 2008, 18:55 »
We get loads in our garden thanks to a tree next door but one. I'd like to start a separate leafmould cage but I've heard sycamore is poisonous; can anyone confirm this? If so, at the very least I should get them off the beds.

You can compost it quite happily. Takes a while though so be patient  :D

Excellent - thanks :) I'll tuck it behind the shed for a couple of years if that's what it takes.

A leaf cage is a good idea. Make sure that you can get to it easily or you'll be turned off saving leaves if it's a chore to get them to the bin  :D
