I prefer my Weirauch (German) .22 air rifle.

Which model? I had an HW77, nicely made but a heavy old beast.
I've got an Alros Trailsman in 0.22 which rarely ever gets used these days.
Blimey! You mean you can *grow* things in soil?

Yes, I shoot anywhere when necessary.

I just realised, looking at that picture (unless it has been reversed), that Sean Bean is a left-handed shot. When I was in the Army Cadets we had a chap who used a rifle with a right-handed grip on his left shoulder ---------------------------------------- everybody took cover when it was his turn on the range.

Hi, Browser.
Yes, mine's a heavy rifle too. I haven't weighed it but it's probably over 3Kg. They are unusual in having a sliding breech block. British quality rifles were "tap" loading, others usually a folding breech.

Edit:I've had a look at it and it's an HW77K

I have a HW97 in .22 calibre with a 6X40 scope, it is heavy at 10lbs. I have never used it indoors though. Infact I rarely use it at all. I used it yesterday for the first time in over a year.
always have a target
and an objective.

Hardly pinpoint accuracy with that auto-shotgun and i certainly wouldn`t want to carry the cartridge bag  :D. Might just as well go the whole hog and buy Metal Storm.
Still using the old HW 35E if i get severe pigeon problems.

The shotgun in the video would be totally illegal in the UK.
Over here, the magazine should not be capable of holding anymore than two cartridges plus one in the chamber ready to fire ( although this practice is frowned apon for safetys sake.) This change in the law came into effect after the awfull situation that happened in Hungerford.

I'll stick to my old side-by-side 16 gauge, and my BSA Hornet pneumatic .22 air rifle. The 16 gauge makes a loud bang, the air rifle's silent ;)

I think you are only allowed 2 cartridges in the breach in this country, so have a years supply at your trigger finger is not allowed  ::).
I don't think you would get a licence for it in the UK.

Weirauch's are notoriously heavy(as well as notoriously reliable&well built) I've had several over the years &by the time you add a decent scope&a lamp it can be
a right struggle to keep the cross hairs on target sometimes.Saying that though, i took my R7 out of the cabinet on Wednesday for the first time in months &by the time i'd got close enough for a shot at a bunny i was all over the place.
I think a couple of hours out with it this week is needed.

HW97k for me too  :D

as far as I know there are no illeagle class's of fire arms in this country,

the only limiting factor is what you can get a license for (not a lot these days)?????
you can get a sgc for an auto with 5+1up (5 in the mag/tube and 1 in the breach), but you have to prove a need for it, thats a lot of pigion.

even the good old sawn off shotty is legal, but you will only get 1 if your in special forces.

edit- not auto, pump action.

As I understand it, the HW77K is the most powerful air rifle you are allowed without a certificate. Years ago I used to have a Diana Model 27, almost as powerful as the HW77K (but was only .177. I killed a pigeon at 50yds with it, using open sights.

Naah, HW77K will be lik eevery other legal-limit air rifle, in that it cannot put out more than 12 lb/ft of muzzle energy. Quite enough to cleanly kill a rabbit or pigeon at 20 metres. There are a lot or air rifles around these days easily capable of that.

Hi Dugless.
you need to be very carefull where you use an air weapon these days.
is it your own land?
if not, can you get permission to shoot an air weapon on it?
is there a chance any pellets may go over onto adjoining land where you don't have permission?
and a dozen other things go through my head every time I take a shot or look at a new shoot(normally some sort of farm vermin control).
I normally shoot between 100-200 pellets a week just to keep my eye in.
plus insurance.

as I am also on a couple of airgun forums, I could ask if there is any one in your area that would lend a hand, or I supose I could nip over at some time, bit busy atm though  ???
just a few thoughts mate...

Thank you, for your reply, I have a very large field behind the garden so no problems about stray shots, (if there were to be any) :D
