What are they though, Gemma, or did I miss something?

Are they build up, sideways, hanging, how many plants and what size, etc?

Okay, a lot would depend on where I was, but say if in a flat with a balcony and I was working, I'd say Q1 Yes, Q2 Yes, Q3 Yes, if I was out a lot working or say going away at weekends, then I wouldn't have to worry about the plants so much. Q4 no, Q5 I'd like a rustic design.

And as mentioned earlier, a modular design where you could interchange the pots with larger, smaller, taller etc would be good.

Will all this research be only on paper, or will you have to actually make one?  If so, we'd love to see the photo!!!!

Although I'd not spend money unless I really had to, I'm trying to think how I'd like it if I did want one. :)

Hope that helps.

Hi Gemma, what a lot of hard work you are doing. Hope this helps

1 = No
2 = Yes
3 = No (like to do it myself and check plants over etc)
4 = Yes
5 = Vintage probably, but would like to see them first

You are going to have a huge task collating all the answers.
Good luck,  Mrs Bouquet

I am thinking along the line of growning virtically.
The idea is to use the smallest amount of space, but produce enough veg for a person through out the year. (If that makes sense)
a Free standing unit.
so for example, a person with a balcony can grow their own veg, and still have room to sit out on their balcony, as the space is not taken up with individual containers.

I hope that makes sense :D

I have to make one!!!!
This project holds 80% of my degree, so i am pulling out all the stops.
I have until the first week in january 09 to finish designing, and from january until the easter holiday to make it.

I keep telling myself I only have to make it once. It's not going to be the most simple thing to make!!!!  :shock:
