im not an expert myself, however looking on google and looking at the definitions of each, A chutney is a spicy condiment containing fruit, vinegar, sugar, and spices. Chutney can range from mild to hot and is often used as an accompaniment to curried dishes. pickling something is  technique where you get a food and preserve it in vinegar or a seasoned brine e.g. onions and finally A relish is a cooked or pickled, chopped vegetable or fruit food item which is typically used as a condiment.

hope this helps

Hi, Pickles are usually veg or fruit STORED in vinegar.  Chutneys are mixtures of chopped veg and fruit  COOKED in vinegar.  The spoiling micro-organisms, are inhibited by the acidity of the vinegar.
Relishes are similar to chutney but more finely cut, so that it looks like a chunky sauce.
Sauces and ketchups are sieved to become lump free.  Sauces usually have alot of ingredients, whilst ketchup will be one predominant flavour.
Hope that helps.  Mrs Bouquet
