I wondered if i brought my one and only butternut squash into the house and put it somewhere warm, maybe it would help to ripen it. Any suggestions?

Gardeners' World this week said leave them on a sunny windowsill, and turn them over after two weeks - this ripens them and toughens the skin up for further storing.   Don't know how well this works with butternut, but we are in the same position as you so we are trying it out.
