heating a greenhouse

hi all,

ive been given a heater like this

are they any good? what they like to run money wize?

what do you all do to heat your greenhouse over the colder weather?

I don't have anything in ours that needs heat over the winter, so I don't have a heater (works out pretty cheap that way too!)
I have used an electric propergator in the early spring, but only to get the seeds started. As soon as they appear, they are put into the unheated greenhouse or cold frame. ( otherwise they can get a bit Leggy )

I only use my parrafin heater when it looks like the weather is going to be really cold, even on cold days the inside temperature of a greenhouse tends to be anywhere from 10-15 degree's, depending on sunshine of course.
Mine is a double wick single vent heater, which takes about 3.5 litres to fill up and this normally lasts me anywhere between 10-14 days, but then again I visit my allotment every morning and evening and I simply turn the wick down slightly during the day, and back up again for through the night, this gives it an average temperature of between 18-20 degrees.
