I know you can take suckers from raspberries to produce new fruiting stock, but can you also do the same from cuttings and if so should you wait for the leaves to die back first. Any advice about planting cutting, look forward to hearing your answers...

I tried it last year, nothing ventured nothing gained.  They appeared to be growing well with leaves starting to show and then ...................... they all died! :cry:  :cry:

To be honest, I've never heard of propagating raspberries by cuttings, it always been by digging up the suckers.

As Rose family, most will root like crazy, as far as I know, but why? When the suckers are more plentiful than needed and all ready, root and foliage and all. :?
