leylandii ash
« on: October 12, 2008, 09:30 »
Hi, a few days ago we burnt some leylandii branches and I was wondering whether we can put the ash on the compost heap or not. I know that leylandii mulch can be quite acidic, but is the ash???

Thanks

I put all the ash from our woodburner straight on the heap, I burn anything wood, not fussy as long as it's free. It all seems to breakdown and vanish in time. Never had any problems when using the compost.
He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.
