Pink Fir Apple Potatoes

Around Mid June I bought a bag of spuds at G/Centre reduced to 25p
and we planted them in a tub 20" across x 15" deep.  Significant OH has tended them with care, as we have never grown spuds before (In fact OH has never grown anything before!)  Anyway he emptied the tub this weekend and yielded almost 12 kgs of lovely straight spuds, all about the same size, and they taste scrummy.
The question is, is this an average size yield, or could we have done better (or worse   )   Mrs Bouquet

He started off by just covering them with soil and then building it up each time any growth showed.  About 6" from the top he left them and let them get on with it.  He used growbags to top up, they were fed only once about 1/2 way with chicken pellets.  But he watered them everyday.

It is no importance how many you put in there, really - asVeg Dan says - you could not really have more in that size container!

Bows to Mr Bouquet, indeed. :D
