I'm going out shooting rabbits tonight with my mate 'Blind Pugh' We'll be off out just after eight with the twelve bore and a powerful spot light. To say that the fields around us are crawling with rabbits would be a bit of an understatement.

I love rabbit, how many of you can bring yourself to eat one and what is your favourite recipe ?

Discrete pictures of tonights activities to follow.

Dad used to bring home rabbits he'd poached and gut them in the kitchen.  The smell made me vomit.  Every time I think of eating rabbit now I can't because I remember that smell.  I'm feeling queasy just writing this.  Would love to be able to eat it as it's delicious and healthy.
Cheese makes everything better.

Very very legal and I always gut the rabbits out in the fields where they've been shot. :D

A twenty four hour food forage starting tonight  :D

The itinerary is as follows.

1) Lamping for rabbits tonight.
2) Spinning for bass and mackerel in the morning.
3) Seashore forage in the afternoon for mussels, winkles and I may even try for limpets
I'll also be looking to pick up a bag full of oyster shells to smash up for the chickens. I found the remains of a broken egg in one of the nest boxes today.
I'm hoping to get pictures of stage one on here late tonight.

I tried it once at a friend's house when I was a teenager, must admit it sewed the seeds of vegetarianism in my head when he brought it home and started skinning it in front of me, I guess if it had come out of a freezer I may not have been so squeamish.  I ate one mouthful and "accidentally" dropped the rest on the floor just above the dog's mouth
