Hello all
I am wanting to preserve the chicken coop inside and out. Rarther than use creosote I was going to use old engine oil would it be ok yo use on the inside of the coop or should I use the creosote on the inside. I am going to felt all the out side anyway but just to make the wood last longer I thought it would give it a brush over.

I have read something about using engine oil and what I do remember is that it is a no no! I will try and find the post on another forum and tell you reason as why not to use it.

Would you be happy to sleep in a shed painted with smelly engine oil? If you would not like it they might not. It's worth thinking about.
